OUR HOMEOWNER OF THE MONTH!
This week we completed yet another backsplash. This one was done in a random modular blend by Oceanside Glass. The color name is Beach Blonde. I included in this set of pictures a small detail in regard to stopping points or termination points, and how we treat them when using a glass tile. With conventional tiles, a bullnose (or rounded) piece is used to bring the tiles to a stopping point but with glass there is no such animal. I always find that just stopping the glass and grouting it looks rather unfinished so we use an L-edge and try our best to match the color of the L-ege to the color of the tile. In this first picture you can see the L-edge is installed ahead of time. To do this, installer Jason used a short level to make sure it was plumb off of the wall cabinet and then fastened it with mortar.

This next picture shows the finished product. Notice how inconspicuous the L-edge actually is, yet brings the stopping edge to a nice finish.

This shot shows the glass finished and grouted. We used SpectraLOCK Grout again for it's stain proof properties since our homeowner Adele likes to cook. No need to worry about kitchen grease or spaghetti sauce since this grout can not absorb any of these common household cooking products.

Finally, I wanted to include a shot of our happy homeowner. Thanks Adele (and husband Pete)! We appreciate your business!
