On Saturday I visited the job to find Josh finishing up on the master bathroom floor area. This is the same job with the Terrazzo Tiles. Josh has been installing this tile with a tight joint and it was imperative that the floor is nice and flat. In this picture Josh is taking some extra time to bed up a tile where he has hit a slight hump in the floor that is causing the corners to stick up. This is where the extra time comes in but Josh is sure to do what is needed to make the floor nice and flat.

This next picture simply shows the white mortar that Josh is using and the Ditra Matting Underlayment (orange in color). This particular mortar is called a "marble and granite" mortar and has a heavier consistency which helps when using a thicker mortar bed in setting heavier and thicker tiles.

And what do you do when the job is all but finished? Well, Josh decided to make some building blocks from some of the left over terrazzo scraps and take them home to his 2-1/2 year old. Lyla seems to be enjoying the terrazzo and may be giving Daddy some installation tips before the night is over!
